April Madness aka Pink Sunday

Yesterday I woke up at 5:50 with the excitement of Lilly for Target in the air. I barely slept last night because I got home from Prom at 12 (a post coming later this week!), and I knew that I couldn't sleep in because this was Lilly for Target, y'all. Most anticipated event of the year. I kid...sorta.

Clearly didn't need the alarms...
I got there at 7:45ish, and there was a line but only of about 25 people. I was checking Twitter and some stores had hundreds of people in line. As it got closer to 8, the line got longer, and once the employee came to open the door, shift went down. Thankfully I had my wonderful mom, who willingly woke up super early after chaperoning prom, to help me. We essentially grabbed everything that was in my size. #notsorry I had to get away from the crazy moms as quickly as possible.

Luckily I was one of the first people in the dressing rooms, and I tried everything on and got an idea of what I wanted. I kept everything that was a "yes" or a "maybe." My mom and I proceeded to walk around Target to see the chaos. Home section was wiped out except for a set of lights and some beach blankets. Literally all the clothes except for six pieces were gone. (I actually picked up one of the dresses that was left.) The saddest part was I saw a girl who couldn't have been older than 2 with her mom. The mom was picking out clothes, but the little girl did not want to be there. My friend, Keara, was there, and she said she fought with a woman for piece of clothing. That's insane!

Target really needed more hooks today...
After walking around, I started to go through my cart and decided what a definite yes, but then my mom just said she thought I should get all of it which I am incredibly thankful for that and her help through the madness. I can't say that enough. My mom was a God-send through the craziness. All in all, I woke up too early, spent too much money, and partook in the worst part of capitalism, but I am glad I did it. I would've regretted staying at home and not getting anything. I got 10 items of clothing and a bag for the cost of two Lilly dresses.

I know some people are incredibly angry at people like me for buying out everything, but remember Lilly doesn't make things in my size, and it is hard to find Lilly dresses that fit. I knew this was my shot at getting Lilly clothing even if it is LillyxTarget, and it was only going to happen once, so of course I went a little crazy at 8 in the morning.  I am incredibly lucky to have had an amazing experience with getting stuff from this collection, and I wish everyone could have had the same experience, but this is how a Target collection works. It happened with Missoni in 2011 and Jason Wu in 2012. The supply will never fulfill the demand when the demand is unlimited.

I've never bought so many clothes in one trip to Target.
Will I ever do anything like this ever again? Hopefully I will never need to. My family doesn't do Black Friday, but I will do it for Lilly. If you shopped yesterday, I hope you got what you wanted, and if you didn't, I hope you enjoyed reading everyone's tweets. I know I did.

Hope y'all have a good Monday!

Spring Break 2015: New York + Boston

As y'all know, I spent the past week in New York/Boston for my Spring Break with my sister! New York was absolutely wonderful, and I fell in love. Boston was less wonderful because it was really cold and not pleasant, but I am excited to go back in the summer, hopefully. I got to see both my brother and my cousins while up North. I hadn't seen my cousins since the wedding last year, and it was exciting getting to hang out with them in the West Village. My favorite part was definitely shopping on Madison Avenue. Plus Shake Shack. In words of Aziz, "One of the big things I miss about New York is not my friends so much; it’s Shake Shack, the burger place. I miss Shake Shack."
Warning: Picture Heavy

Snacks at the Steps of the Met. I'm basically Blair Waldorf.

Vineyard Vines at the Prudential Center.

Emma at the Boston Public Library looking at the Sargent paintings.

The Staten Island Ferry in order to see the skyline/Statue of Liberty.

This is the cutest song ever. I'm not even lying, and it sounds even better acoustic.

KJP just released a new collection, and I'm eyeing the Audrey Scallop bracelet. Also how cute is the Emelie Sherbert Anchor bracelet? Did y'all know orange and pink were my favorite colors as a kid?

I've wanted a monogrammed jewelry box for forever, and now Marley Lilly makes them.  And how perfect are the Spirit Jersey inspired shirt? Now if they would make fanny packs... *hint hint*

P.S. This was my 500th post! And two years is approaching. This is insane!!!

Spring Fashion Inspiration

This year, I am definitely about flower/leaf-y prints, and I definitely want a set for this season. Also, I've been wanting white pants for a while, and I might take the jump soon. I'm not sure what the weather will be like in Georgia when I get back from NYC/Boston. Who knows? It'll probably feel like summer with pollen floating every where, but a girl can dream that I can a clear spring season down here, right? Right? Hopefully the heat isn't too bad, and the rain has cleared away the yellow blanket of pollen that comes every year without fail.

I Wanna Get Better

I had a really, really rough week last week. A lot has been going on in my life, and I am not at the point where I really want to share it with the whole wide internet, but I think it's really important that I share my experiences with the y'all, and I kind of find blogging to be a really good outlet. So bear with me while I ramble a bit.

I have this problem where I need to be in control at all times, and I have even bigger problem where I hate asking for help. I've always thought that I could fix it. By myself. No help. But I can't. At least, not by myself. I'm watching Gossip Girl right now, and something Serena said really hit me. She told Blair that she couldn't keep pretending problems didn't exist. I mean, mine's nothing a big as a pregnancy scare, but I really related to it. My mom always calls me a pressure cooker, so I keep things inside of me and then one little thing sets me off... Like a SAT score or a Spanish grade.

I saw this Coach Cal quote a while ago, and it hit me. I mean I know he's talking about basketball, but when you hit your own personal rock bottom, you really only have one choice, and that is to choose to get better. It's not something that is going to happen automatically because things don't just happen most of the time. You have to make them happen. You have to make a choice. And my choice is to start getting better.

Wishing for Derby Days

In a little over a month, the Kentucky Derby is set to take over Louisville. Meanwhile, Keeneland just opened this past weekend, and I am so incredibly happy even though I am not going because who doesn't a love a good horse race aesthetic? As always, Vineyard Vines has released the most perfect collection! Be sure to pick it up the Derby since it will be gone soon. Here are my three favs!

Hopefully, I'll be at Kentucky in two years, so I can go to the Derby and go to Keeneland all the time.

Tips For Packing Light

Hey y'all, so as you're reading this, I am in the New York City! I'm so incredibly pumped, but all my posts for this week are scheduled, so to follow me in real time, make sure to follow me on Twitter, Instagram, and Tumblr! I recently just made my Snapchat story public, so you can add me on there as well. jujukachoo

Since I flew to New York, I had to pack light, and I've talked about on here before how that's not my personality. At all. (I over pack because I normally under pack...) But I really did need to cut down on my packing since plane and all... So today, I'm going to share with you guys how I cut down my travel bag for this trip!

Create a Neutral Color Scheme | I only packed navys and blacks for this trip. A. Because both colors go with my rain boots, and B. They lend themselves to accessories really well. Plus, I've kinda gotten over my aversion to wearing black and navy together, so I can make multiple outfits with only a few pieces. All in all, I packed 7 pieces of clothing for a seven day trip. (Doesn't include jackets.)

Plan, Plan, Plan! | What helped me with packing the most was planning my outfits. I started out with my two striped shirts and went from there. I ended up getting five outfits with those shirts, my two pairs of pixie pants, jeans, and a skirt, so then I threw in my striped dress and my navy gingham shirt. If you have a plan, then you don't end up bringing more than you need because you already know what you're going to wear.

Accessories, Duh | Jewelry and scarves add so much to an outfit! And they help change up a look very easily, and they don't take a whole ton of room in your bag.

I'm actually obsessed with every new arrival from Vineyard Vines. It makes me wish I was traveling to the beach instead of the city next week... Almost.

How precious is the calendar necklace from BaubleBar?? This would be a cute graduation present.

Have you seen Jack Rogers' exclusive anniversary sandals? The navy and pink ones are perfect.

I'm really into the tassel tread as seen by the Vineyard Vines photo, and these bracelets from Nordstrom are too good to pass up.

#FannyPackFriday next year, y'all! (Natalie and I doing this. I promise.)

Hope y'all had a good week to make up for my awful one. What's something good that happened for you? So I can be happy for y'all!

Singing in the Rain

April showers bring May flowers, right? Even before April has started, it has rained so much in Georgia. Last night it poured and hailed. More than once... But with this rain, comes my Hunter Rain Boots which I've talked about on here once or twice...or five times. I absolutely love them, and I definitely suggest investing in a pair! Sadly, I don't have my own umbrella, but I really want especially to have one that matches my boots because I am that person.

I had trouble finding cute umbrellas... Do y'all suggest any place to find one?
